Us Trade Agreements Switzerland

Free trade agreements aim to improve trade relations with important partners around the world. The aim is to eliminate or at least minimise obstacles to international markets for the Swiss economy. Tariffs and non-tariff barriers (e.g. (B technical rules, packaging and labelling rules, import quotas) will be abolished. Most (but not all) Swiss free trade agreements contain such a rule. This means that the determination of the country of origin of the product does not take into account materials originating in a third country, provided that their value does not exceed 10% of the ex-works price. However, if a percentage rule is fixed in the list, it shall not be exceeded by the application of the general tolerance. Therefore, this tolerance is particularly relevant for goods for which the list provides for a position jump. Switzerland and the United States are “sister republics” and share the same values in terms of the rule of law, freedom, democracy and the free market. . .
